Theralyn + Zoom: document telehealth therapy sessions the right way

Zoom is the video call. Theralyn is the documentation. Together they make telehealth therapy as structured and trackable as in-person sessions.

Telehealth therapy via Zoom has become a permanent fixture in many ABA, OT, and SLP practices. But video conferencing tools don't solve the documentation challenge — they create a new version of it. When a session happens over Zoom, who's tracking the DTT trials? Who's logging the child's responses? Who's writing the session note afterward? Theralyn runs alongside Zoom in a second browser window or on a second device, giving therapists the same structured goal tracking, data collection, and one-click report generation they'd use in an in-person session.

How the workflow works

From session start to parent sharing — the complete Theralyn + Zoom workflow.

1

Open both Zoom and Theralyn

Start your Zoom session with the family in one browser window or tab. Open Theralyn's session execution screen in a second window or on a tablet beside you. Both run simultaneously.

2

Track goals during the Zoom session

As the child completes activities on Zoom, tap goal counters in Theralyn to record correct, prompted, or incorrect responses. Log observations in the session notes field in real time. The family sees Zoom; you see Theralyn.

3

End the session, generate the report

When the Zoom call ends, end the session in Theralyn. A structured report is generated automatically from the data collected during the call.

4

Share the report with the family

Paste the Theralyn parent sharing link into a Zoom chat message, email, or WhatsApp message immediately after the call. The family receives a professional session summary before they've even closed their Zoom window.

What this means in practice

Runs alongside Zoom without switching tools — no interruption to the video session

Same structured data collection for telehealth as in-person sessions

Session report shared immediately after the call while engagement is still high

Works on any device — tablet beside the laptop running Zoom, or second browser window

Telehealth sessions are fully documented and linked to the child's goal record

Parent receives a professional report rather than a verbal summary over video

Common questions

Does Theralyn integrate directly with Zoom?

Not with a native integration at this stage. Theralyn runs alongside Zoom in a separate window or device. A dedicated telehealth mode with Zoom integration is on the product roadmap.

Can I track data in Theralyn while sharing my screen on Zoom?

Yes — if you're sharing a specific application window on Zoom rather than your whole screen, Theralyn runs in a separate window not visible to the family. If sharing the full screen, consider using a tablet for Theralyn data entry during the session.

Is telehealth therapy as trackable as in-person sessions in Theralyn?

Yes. All Theralyn features — goal tracking, DTT trial counters, ABC data, session notes, parent sharing — work identically for telehealth sessions. The session type doesn't change the documentation workflow.

Can parents receive session reports after every Zoom session?

Yes. After every session (Zoom or in-person), Theralyn generates a shareable report link. Many therapists make post-session parent sharing a standard part of every appointment — telehealth makes this even more natural since you're already digitally connected.
