Theralyn + Google Drive: two tools that serve different functions

Theralyn handles what happens inside the session — goal tracking, live execution, and reports. Google Drive stores everything else. Together they cover the full documentation workflow.

Most therapy practices already use Google Drive — for intake forms, consent documents, curriculum materials, and long-term record storage. Theralyn and Google Drive aren't alternatives; they're complementary. Theralyn is the operational tool for session documentation: you capture data live, generate session reports automatically, and share with parents. Google Drive is the filing system: you store PDFs for long-term records, share forms with families, and organize clinic-wide materials. Used together, they create a complete, organized documentation workflow without redundancy.

How the workflow works

From session start to parent sharing — the complete Theralyn + Google Drive workflow.

1

Use Theralyn during sessions

Track goals, collect DTT data, log ABC incidents, and capture session observations in real time using Theralyn's session execution screen. The data lives in Theralyn against each child's record.

2

Generate the session report

At the end of each session, Theralyn compiles a structured report automatically. Share it with parents via the secure link — or download the PDF for your records.

3

Export PDF to Google Drive for long-term storage

Download the session report PDF from Theralyn and upload to your Google Drive folder structure. This creates a permanent, offline-backup record organized by child and session date — useful for long-term archiving or if you ever need to produce historical records.

4

Use Google Drive for everything else

Consent forms, intake questionnaires, BCBA program books, curriculum libraries, team resources — keep these in Google Drive as before. Theralyn handles session-level documentation; Drive handles your wider file management.

Common questions

Does Theralyn integrate directly with Google Drive?

Not with a native sync integration at this stage. You can download session report PDFs from Theralyn and manually upload them to Drive. A direct Drive integration is on the product roadmap.

Can I use Google Docs to edit Theralyn session reports?

Session reports are generated in Theralyn's format and shared via secure link or PDF. If you need to edit or annotate a report, download the PDF and annotate it in Drive or Google Docs.

Should I store session reports in Theralyn or Google Drive?

Both, ideally. Theralyn keeps live session records that link goals, data, and reports together in one searchable system. Drive provides long-term PDF archiving. Using both gives you structured access in Theralyn and permanent backup in Drive.

What about M7 resources like the ABA session report template — can I use those from Drive?

Yes. The free Google Docs templates from Theralyn's resources section are designed to live in your Google Drive. They're a starting point for manual documentation if you're not yet on a digital system.
